WTF? An OVER for these 2 defensive powerhouses?

1. Last year, NE won games with great D....but in case you hadn't noticed, Patriots are a SCORING MACHINE this year averaging 28.1 ppg on offense. Miami O was non-existent early in the season but has come on strong in the past few weeks. Oddly enough, their defense is now allowing more points as well.

2. Patriots D actually allowing 16.7 ppg this season....Miami, 22.2 ppg!

3. Miami started the season as a sure-bet under (1st 4 games went under easily), but since then have quietly gone over the total 7 of last 8 games! NE has also eclipsed the total in 7 games this season when they got a little help from opponents' scoring.

4. MNF over/under this year is 10/4. Look for a lot of points to be scored in balmy Miami tonight. GL

I agree too...OVER 40 1/2, buying that hook to get a winner at 24-17...or 31-10

GL Brock. I am guessing it will be WAY over, 31-24 or 28-27, but I have been wrong before.:howdy:

I'm torn. Do you think Miami can put many points up? I think if they are able to put up some it should go over for sure. Iguana, you know your totals so I'll lay one unit. Let's make some cash!

who did Miami put up points against that makes you think they can do it against the number one team in the NFL?

Actually I have a two team teaser with Indy -1 1/2 and NE -4 1/2. I may put a small bet on the Under.

GoFlamesGo, thank you for the compliment--I did miss badly with the GB/Jax under yesterday, so let's hope I'm closer on this one.

wmublows, I consider the Fins scoring 17 on a cold day in Denver pretty impressive, Denver D still top 5 in league (before KC shelled them yesterday). And scoring 32 on Buffalo not too shabby either. I think the Fins should be able to put 17-24 on the board at home, even against the Pats D. We're basically looking at a Dolphins team now consistently scoring 17 or better when earlier in the season they were lucky to get a single offensive TD. I think the line is still a little low based on the defensive stigmas of these two teams.

BUT more importantly is the fact that NE offense should put 28+ on the board AND the MNF over trend.....I don't know what it is, but offenses shine on Monday nights this year (10 overs, 4 unders). Again, I could be wrong, but I see NE scoring around 30 and Miami around 20. GL

Anything can happen in football thats for sure. Normally I would just take what you pick, because your much better on o/u picks than I, but I just don't like this game. I hope it wins for you. I just need NE to cover 4 1/2 and I'll be happy. Good luck tonight bro.

just got news that the Dolphins have trick up their sleeve tonite that should get the crowd jacked ...

Griese, Warfield, Twilley are gonna suit up tonite so gotta think Miami good for at least 3 tds!

wmublows, thanks for the compliment--let's hope NE wins 31-24 and we will both be :suomi: .

LOL, Doc Mercer! You forgot Larry Czonka, Dan Marino and Mercury Morris!!!!!! I heard Marino is going for a few more TD passes to protect his record against Manning!

Any thoughts on the first half over?? 21 1/2 seems tempting but that 1/2 has bit me before!

Thanks,

moe

ps i am seeing NE 1 1/2 avg is 17.3 in the last 3 and Mia is 15 in the last 3

docgone, please keep posting in my thread so I can see that avatar. Glad you ca$hed with me.

Moe, I didn't see your post until now....sorry I couldn't help. Just FYI, I never play quarters, halves, or props, just total games.

Pefbear, I guess the public can't be wrong all the time, eh?

Johnskelington, thanks for the props. I liked the over in this game as soon as I saw it last week, mainly based on NE scoring 28 ppg and Miami's recent offensive surge. I sure didn't see Miami winning outright! Can't believe 2 time Superbowl MVP Brady threw that pass instead of taking the sack....rookie mistake from a usually rock-solid QB.

Let's keep strokin' the man through the bowls, Boys!

I was neutral on the total in this one, but you and the others swayed me into playing a Unit on the Over and playing an Over/Miami tease hedge for half of what I had riding on my Pats teasers, so thanks for helping me salvage! PS--you gonna play the Under 44 on the Bills, 49ers? That line is INFLATED!
